Random Dozen!

Its that time again! You know you love seeing just how random things can get 'round here LOL

#1 Have you ever been so lost that you were really afraid?

I would have to say no. My husband has an AWESOME sense of direction. He can drive through the bush and know exactly where he is and can even remember how to get to the exact same spot if he needs to.
Me, I can't find where I am with a map and lots of street signs. This is why I don't go anywhere odd without either my husband, or comprehensive directions written by him ;) #2 Have you ever been to an island?
Well, apart from living on a pretty big one....
Yeah, my fave 'island' trip, was to Stradbroke Island for my sister's wedding. It is my dream to go back there again with my family for a family holiday :)

#3 Are you more of a thinker or feeler?

Up until recently I would have said a feeler, but since being diagnosed with depression, and being medicated etc, I have learned that I can't really rely on how I feel about something. I am now most definitely a thinker :)

#4 Do you tend to see issues in life as lack and white or shades of grey?

Oh most definitely so many shades of grey!!!

#5 If you were stuck on an island, what book would you hope to have with you?

I know. Its sad. I have read this book so many times, and I still love it. I know...I should have said Anna Karenina or something, but I tried reading that several times and just can't get past halfway LOL

#6 What are you most afraid of?
Apart from something happening to someone I care deeply for?

Rats.
I googled images of rats and ended up with goose bumps and cold chills.
I wanted to put up a freaky icky image, but couldn't bear to look at them *shudder* Even this one kind of squicks me out, and I am pretty sure its not even a rat....

#7 Would you rather lose all of your old memories or never be able to make new ones?
Oh wow. Deep.
I think I would like to keep the ones I have. All of my favourite things so far are in my memories, and if I haven't made them yet I can't be sad for not remembering them...I would hate to forget being proposed to, first wobbly steps, my wedding or the amazing arrival of my children...

#8 Pretend I'm looking at a scrapbook page about you. There are 3 spaces for you to drop in individual pictures. What are those pictures of and why did you select them?

The last one is missing a few sis and bro in laws, but these (along with the AWOL ones) are the people who matter to me most. More than anything in the world, these people - my husband, my children and my precious mum/dad/brothers/sisters/sis in laws/brother in law define *me* and who I am.

#9 If you were re-doing your wedding what would you do differently?
Maybe a different venue?
*snort*

A different dress perhaps?
*giggle*

Alright, seriously now...
I would change my hair do.
I would elope. I would take Mick and my hard earned savings and have a magnificent holiday...or at least a honeymoon (still waiting for that)
I *might* have a professional photographer....or not, I still hate having my photo taken...

#10 tell me one thing you know/believe about forgiveness?

That it is BLOODY hard work!!! But yeah, worth it in the end :)

#11 You're waiting in a doctor's office. What is your favourite way to pass the time?
I love reading the magazines. I don't care how old they are...I mean, I never get out, so chances are i haven't heard the gossip from 5 years ago!
Oh, and the trashier the better. I am a HUGE Dolly fan!

#12 If there were a clone of you in a parallel universe what is one way you hope she/he would be the same as you and one way you hope she/he would be better?
I would like the other me to have the same family I do ;)

I would like the other me to be thinner. I would like her NOT to have depression, and I would like her to have finished her teaching degree BEFORE the family came along LOL
Are you playing along this week?

The Cyber Crop is going strong!

I was to set the colour challenge yesterday for the Cyber Crop at WP, which I did, but not as I intended...I was supposed to have a LO ready to go as inspiration, but time ran away from me, and I ended up falling asleep for 3 HOURS in the time I had set aside to scrap...OOPS!
So instead, I found a pic, that had the colours I wanted to use, and used that instead! And then last night I worked on this...

All about my boy suddenly becoming frustrated with my attempts to photograph him...
As the title says, it had to happen eventually LOL

Happy weekend all!

The Cyber Crop has Begun!

And my first challenge is up and ready to go :)

Head on over to the forum to see my technique challenge....
To be extra 'challenging' I have used two criteria...to use stitching (hand or machine) and an altered pic (either simple altering like mine which is sanded and has a rub on, or more cool digi stuff)
I love this pic of my girls...it looks so sweet, like they are running over to their daddy for cuddles, but nope, he was bribing them to smile for more photos with a box of Roses chocolates....

Random Dozen!

1. Ever had any run ins with the library police?

Well, both my parents ARE the librarian police LOL Not really any run ins per say...there was the one librarian when I was at uni that we all called Darth Vader...seriously, the woman could NOT sneak up on anyone..we could here her coming several rows back...

Then there was my close call from last week. My puppy chewed my copy of this book...

And I,-coward that I am - got my husband to return it for me. I still haven't heard anything back....

2. Do you have special organizational plans and a place for wrapping paper, gift bags etc, or do you just purchase whenever you need as you give gifts?

Nope, definitely a planner here! Years of living in the sticks have taught me to be prepared...you never know when a kid is going to spring a party on you for that same afternoon!

#3 Have you ever been in (first -hand witness to) a natural disaster?

Apart from my toy room...no :)

#4 What's your favourite Barry Manilow song?

Well, until today I wasn't aware that I had one LOL
I have to say 'Can't smile without you'

#5 What's the best costume you've ever worn?

Probably not the year I went to the school's Book Week parade as a Fairy Princess dressed in an old donated wedding dress.

Poor Mick nearly had a heart attack...we'd only been dating a few weeks LOL

It would have to be in primary school when I dressed up as Sadie the Cleaning Lady. I got a prize and everything!

Thanks Johhny! LOL

#6 What's your favourite breakfast food?
Yeah...I got it out of order here...sorry, but it is WAAAAAAAAAAY too much trouble to move pictures around with Blogger!

I love French Toast...

No, wait make it...eggs benedict...

No, definitely French toast. With maple syrup and strawberries...

#7 Which do you use more a dictionary or a thesaurus?

I love love love my thesaurus!

#8 Have you ever purchased anything from an infomercial?
No, but I totally want the Sham-WOW!

Have you heard the joke...there's no drought, someone just dropped a Sham-WOW ....

Oh, and my sis bought me Zumba too LOL

#9 Have you ever crawled through a window?
Errr, yes.
I was bridesmaid. I had alot to drink. I was standing on the front steps waiting for my dad to pick me up, when I got invited to a party, by a guy hanging out of a window, which I crawled through. I soon got a phone call from the front desk saying my dad was there to get me, so I left the party. The same way I got there.
My poor dad.

He has a classy daughter *blush*

#10 Do you believe in love at first sight?
Oh heck YES!

#11 How many pairs of jeans do you own?
Okay. I own ONE pair of jeans. I know, its bad.

#12 If someone were going to bake a cake to honor/represent you, what would it be?
(Think creatively, like Duff and Crew on 'Ace of Cakes')

Can I have this baker????

LOL. Maybe not ;)

I have never heard of 'Ace of Cakes' So, I am going with my fave...a good, rich, yummy chocolate cake...Mmmmmmm....

So that's mine! Let me know if you play along too, I'd love to come visit!

Just 5 minutes ago...

I went to tuck my boy into bed, and found this... *sigh*
Its moments like these that are so so precious :)
Good evening my friends!

My Funky Floral kit

Arrived on Friday from Wicked Princesses...so I got the whole weekend to play, I love when scrapping goodies arrive in time for the weekend!

While I was cleaning up I found this old tin that at some stage had come with some Prima flowers inside And then i glanced at my kit, and new what I wanted to make :)
A handmade card set with carrier for my sis!

She likes to give handmade cards, but doesn't actually, you know, like to make them LOL

And I also got a LO done too!

There are enough left overs to make a few more cards too :)
Don't forget the Dt call is still open (details in the forum) so if you want one of Krissy's gorgeous kits to play with once a month *for Frrrrreeeeeeee* why not try out?
Thanks for stopping by friends!

Random Dozen!

1. How do you feel about "Gladiator" sandals also called "Roman" or "Jesus" sandals? A fashion yea or nay?

Definitely a NAY from me.

I would look like a stringed ham if I wore these... UGH

2. What is your favourite pizza?

Mmmmm supreme, with NO pineapple. Pineapple on pizza is wrong in SO many ways!

3. There are plans to sell roughly 1,000 items from Star Trek:The Experience in Las Vegas. This means that you couls buy Picard's chair for your family room. If not a Star Trek, what prop, background, set from what movie would you buy if you could?

Hmm, just the shoes from The Devil Wears Prada...all of them ;)

Failing that, Carrie Bradshaw's entire shoe collection;)

4. Name a local food or restaurant that your area is famous for.

Well, apart from growing citrus fruit, Mundubbera is famous for nothing. The less said about the cuisine available here, the better. LOL
We don't even have a coffee shop!

5. What is your current favourite snack?

Mmmm...cheeeeeese....not at all condusive to # 10 LOL
My fave snack...toast with really thinly sliced cheese. Tomato too if I am feeling adventurous;)

6. Hypothetical: You are required to be a reality show contestant. Which show would you choose based on your probability of success? (You cannot choose 'none')

A. Dancing With The Stars

B. Biggest Loser

C. Survivor

Well, yeah...I ruled out Dancing with the Stars immediately. I can't stand the show, and I can't dance. At all.

Survivor was out cause its, well, camping. I don't do camping. Or eating wierd insects.

So, seeing as I have a heap of weight to lose, Biggest Loser it is! (and I would get to meet the Cammando;))

Although I'd be MUCH better at Big Brother ;)

7. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being uninhabitable and 10 being cleanliness that meets the standards of OCD, how clean is your vehicles interior?

This is not my car.

I googled images for messy car, and this was the closest (just FYI...there are some cars out there that are truly gross, go on, try googling image results for messy car ICK!)

I'd give my car a 7.

Only cause my husband regularly cleans it for me;)

8. It doesn't feel like Spring until ........

I've popped a truckload of Zyrtec

LOL

Seems strange to be answering a question about Spring as we are heading into Autumn here!

9. Something that made you laugh really hard recently is....

It cracks me up EVERY single time.

10. Tell me about a goal you're working toward.

I reeeeeeally have to lose weight.

But I am sorely lacking in both motivation and will power.

This pic pretty much sums up how I am feeling about the whole exercise thing at the moment LOL

11. Share a thought provoking or inspiring quote this week

Okay, I have nothing....absolutely nothing...

Do you have one you would like to share?

Please! Provoke my thoughts!

12. Name one thing you do as a parent that you absolutely know will make your kids happy. If you're not a parent, feel free to substitute 'friend' or nomenclature that works for you.

Honestly, I don't know if I ever feel as if I am doing anything right for my kids. I am constantly riddled with guilt about how I don't do enough. However, one thing I know I do, is love my kids and give them a strong sense of family. I am also trying, from this young age, to encourage them to talk to Mick and I.

Every night at dinner we talk about at least one good thing, one bad thing, and one funny/interesting thing that has happened to us during the day. Makes for some interesting dinner conversations!

Every night, when they go to bed, I tuck them in individually, and spend a few minutes talking about the day. I try to use this time to find out about their friends and what happened at school. I use this time as insurance for the future. I am trying to let them know that I am there, and interested.
Who knows if this will make them happy in the future?? Certainly not me!

Soooooo....are you gonna join in? I'd love to come visit your 'Random Dozen!'
