A Scrappy Holiday

The amazing Jules is running a school holiday comp especially for the kids! As soon as I casually mentioned it to my shorties, they were headed to my scrap room pulling out scissors and flowers with alarming speed!
I went in, not to help, but to protect my precious stash! They have an uncanny ability to spot and want my most treasured, saved bits and pieces ;) I guess this means they obviously have good tasteLOL

This is Nat's (aged9) page.... I love her title :) This is Charlotte's (aged 8) page I love her layered flowers and how she arranged her bling in the centre of her flowers!
And this is Sam's (aged 5) Natalie helped him with his title. Love the pic he chose!

Pop on over to Jule's blog and leave some love for the talented little mites playing along!!!

Oops!

In the craziness of my week, I completely forgot to let you know about the Cyber Crop happening at Wicked Princess this weekend! There is still plenty of time to get your challenges uploaded to the gallery though...Wednesday this week! I finally got a sample done for my own challenge LOL
Jules (from the forum) sent me a gorgeous black, white and red kit full of gorgeousness to play with, and I was so excited to finally get a chance! Thanks Jules!
I did add these Kaisercraft Pearl strips...love how you can use them around circles as well as in a straight line!

And a quick card using up some scraps from my Nightlight kit.

Mick suggests we give it to someone who has put on a lot of weight recently...*sigh*

Have a GREAT week my friends! I am on holidays from work for two weeks while my kidlets are on school holidays...unfortunately, this also co-incides with uni starting up again @@
Thanks for stopping by!

Book Week (A granparently type post!)

The kids celebrated Book Week today with a dress up parade at school.
I walked to school this morning with a Puss in boots...
The world's cutest Very Lazy Ladybeetle

(nope, not biased AT ALL)

And 'Rex' off Clone Wars.

They loved it!
Poor Sammy had decided upon going as a tiger, and we purchased the costume off ebay....and waited, and waited, but alas...no costume :(
He came to me yesterday morning and asked 'Does God do magic?' I said 'no, sorry honey'. He said 'can we pray anyway?' So we did....but still no costume.
Luckily he had a plan 'B'

Thanks for stopping by my lovely friends, and a HUGE thank you for your wonderful messages of support congratulating me on my wonderful kaisercraft news...I just loved reading all those messages and knowing I had people to share my news with, thank you SO SO much!

Daddy's Girls...

My girls are daddy's girls.
From as far back as I can remember, Daddy is the softie. He is the one who would sit and snuggle for hours. Who would read stories until his voice got croaky. He sang to them, comforted them and just loved them.
I think it has a lot to do with my suffering from Post-Natal depression. I was there, but wasn't really there. He stepped in, and did SO much for these girls when I simply couldn't. They in turn, simply adore him.
Its a special thing to see these girls and their dad.
Brings tears to my eyes :)

So this LO is about that.

Its based on Krissy's sketch #3 for this month at Wicked Princesses, and is using some gorgeous Girl's Paperie and Kaisercraft PPs. Love the pink/green/white colour combo.

Lots of dimension...its three layers...a base PP, the tilted PP and tulle and then the frame.

And some more dimension with the layered cabbage roses handcut from the PP.

Have a great week my friends! My car is FINALLY getting fixed this week...unfortunately this coincides with a week when I am working full time...so have to somehow figure out how to get the kids to school then get to work all on foot LOL
I have a feeling we are going to be consistently LATE for everything this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

SQUEEEEEEEAL!

I have booked in for my first ever retreat!

Wicked princesses are hosting their first ever scrapping weekend of goodness next year (May) and I am going!!!
I was SOOO nervous and almost didn't go, cause, well, I snore.
But the girls in the forum reassured me that they can drink enough that they will sleep through my snoring or alternatively, stay up all night gossiping ;)
So I am booked.
I am going!
I can't wait to meet some of my scrappy friends! (I hope no one is an axe murderer like Mick suggested...LOL)
Are you coming too???

Nightlight Kit :)

Krissy from Wicked princesses sent me the Nightlight kit to play with this month, and it has just been released in store. I love that these OA papers are double sided...so many options when you are fiddling and shuffling papers! Using lots of circles...
And I had two copies of this pic, so I mounted the close up of that caterpillar onto some black CS and foam tape to really make it stand out...my fave part about this LO? That those dirty sticky fingers are captured on film :)

And also his pout...when Sam concentrates, his bottom lip does this...

Oh how I love that this hobby of mine allows and encourgaes me to capture all these little details!
I have another LO started on my desk for the soon to be posted step -by- step, and am hoping to be cutting out some of those not so scary monsters in the PP for some boyish birthday cards too!

June Sketch #1

At Wicked Princesses is up :)
Krissy does gorgeous sketches, and from here on, she will be creating a sketch a week each month :)
This is my take on the first June sketch....
Love the colours in this Cosmo Cricket range:)
And my girl...such a serious little flower girl she was!

I hand cut all of those flowers...
I loves me some handcutting!!

Today...

With a house full of vomitters..
And the washing that small vomitting people create, I need to remember that this nursing and washing and story reading is worthwhile. It may seem tedious, but it IS important.

" Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are...Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow."
Mary Jean Iron
Yesterday WAS one of those perfect days. We had no power, so we went bushwalking. The weather was perfect, the company perfect, the park....perfectly peaceful.

We sat up here and just listened to the waterfall meters below, and felt the sun on our faces.
Perfect.
Have a wonderful week friends....appreciate your normal day...I am trying to!

123 Challenge is BACK!

And I actually got it done! LOL

The criteria for the first month back..
The word *new*, the colour white and a paint smeared background.
A close up of my paint smeared background. Soooooo much paint...it actually took about 3 days to dry! I used texture paste, three different shades of white and beige paints and some white crackle paint (I adore this stuff!)
And some crepe paper flowers...might be the teacher in me coming out, but I have a *thing* for crepe paper:)

More texture-y bits. (hidden journalling in the envelope about the scariness of becoming a mum)

Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday Morning...

In our house now means sports *sigh*
Yes, along with thousands of other Aussie family's we rug up (although luckily QLD doesn't get too cold for too long!) and head out with the kids for sports!
This year, Sam has chosen to conquer the soccer field.

Usually Mick takes him, and I head to netball with the girls, but this week we swapped :)
Under 7 soccer is WAY cute!
The fastest the littlies ran was for the juice break at half time ;)

Sam collecting his *free* juice.

His initial reaction to the wonderful world of soccer?
'Mum, we got a FREE juice! I wanna go every week!'
Yeah, not so free baby, its paid for LOL...took us a few days to convince him of this, but the term 'free juice' is now one of those family sayings that seem to have stuck. The girls ask for a free juice after netball while we wander home past the shops LOL

And this?
This week Sam's Prep idol showed up, and they spent the free juice break discussing the wonders of shin pads.
So cute!

I am SUCH a Doofus...

This sneak peek I put up yesterday... Yeah, that's actually JULY'S challenge.
*sigh*
I am a whole month ahead of myself....

So THIS month's challenge over at Scrap The Girls is all about birthday's!
The Lo needs to be about birthdays, be bright and fun, and have a mixed alpha title (at least 3 different alphas)

So here is mine...LOL
I can't believe I got my month's mixed up...on the up side, I don't think I have ever gotten a challenge organised a month in advance!

Cute little pinwheels! Can't get much more fun than pinwheels???
Have a great day my friends! Thanks SO much for stopping in for a visit!
