Having one of THOSE weeks

You know the ones...the type where everything seems to be going just a little bit wrong (like I just spelled 'wrong' wrong LOL) Not enough wrong to feel like I have a right to complain, but enough wrong to make me feel yuck.

So I haven't been around much. Sorry...don't want to be a Debbie Downer.

I got a lovely RAK from Kerryn yesterday, and found out I was put through to the next round of 'So You Think You Can Scrap'. I also found out that I won a $50 book voucher at the uni co op bookshop, so half of a text book for next semester is already paid for! Hooray! Had anyone else forgotten how expensive text books are? I know I had...I also know how 'useful' they are once you graduate. GRRRRR.

I have to work over lunches today as one of the ladies is off with a sick kidlet, and as there are only three of us, and two people need to be in the branch at all times, they need someone to do lunches.

I have also completed my entry for 123 challenge This looks quite boring in the photo, but its actually kind of cool. The scalloped orangey bit is actually kind of 'floating' in the outside border. So you can actually see through the holes and parts of the border where it isn't anchored down. I have to say, I am a little in love with my scallop punch.

Love this pic of Sammy and my brothers. So much love. Makes me miss my family even more than I usually do. hate that my kids are missing out on all that extra love.

Well, thanks for stopping by!

So You Think You Can Scrap...

Well actually, no, not really!!!

But here tis my entry for this week..look, cause I am thinking it will be the one and only entry I will do. The talented people entered in this comp will blow my little offerings out of the water!

Ah well, it was a chance to scrap some pics that I love, and to use some of my Studio Calico goodness! Aren't my sis and my girlie gorgeous!?! Love the Heather Bailey PPs...
The colours were SO yummy! Love this little fabric butterfly, and Thickers...what LO is complete without some Thickers goodness?!?
And lots of distressing. Love distressed pages. And thank goodness it was planned this way, cause the cat walked over the page and smudges ink all over my Card stock...thanks Super Kitty GRRRRRR
So, thats my entry. Thanks for stopping by!

Five Fab Faves...the late edition!

Ugh, sorry guys...late....I was BUGGERED last night. Couldn't even be bothered to turn on the computer, so the fives got shafted until this morning...

#1...rain! Hooray, we got some! I love going to bed and listening to it on the tin roof. I love that at this time of year rain means cold weather. I just love the smell, the mood, everything. Love me some rain!
#2, kind of random (well, lets face it, most of my faves ARE LOL) electricity. I love it, and I never realise how much until I had a morning without it....yesterday our safety switch flicked off leaving us without power for a few hours...crucial hair doing hours in order to get ready for work...but I digress. Our electric kettle was apparently causing all the trouble. It was shorting out the entire house.
(and yes, I now see that my switches all need a clean...believe me, I am onto it)
#3...ahhhh my hair straightener. (I had to leave this uncropped to show some of the scorch marks on my dresser from when I forget to turn this off *heh* I know, I live dangerously) I had to go to work yesterday with wild, curly horrible hair. Not a good look on me. I love this guy.
#4 Heather Bailey PPs. Mmmmmmmm, I got this sheet in my Studio Calico kit, and it just left me wanting more.
#5 Family time. We don't get enough, and we always have fun when we manage to squeeze in some 'quality time' together. Anyone got plans for Father's Day tomorrow??? Seriously...I need some ideas!!!!!!
So thats my faves...although I really need to add that my ultimate favourite thing this week has been opening up my mum's blog to find that I am one of her faves this week. She wrote something lovely about each of her five children. I love my mummy.

Whew...

All I can say is that I am thanking God on my hands and knees tonight that I don't have three year old twin boys. I am POOPED. One day of chasing Sam and friend, and I am done. I always thought twins would be nice, now, not so much....

I say this though, but we had such a fun day...tiring, but fun! We painted and stickered and played and hung out. Good fun! Sam's friend is gorgeous...so much personality, and him and Sam get along SO well...they just don't stop moving! Mick (who was on the roof painting) commented that he now realised that when I say they don't stop moving, I meant it!

At lunch time, I crawled out to the mail box, and my parcel from Scrap with V arrived! I won a $25 voucher in a comp last month and got some really yummy goodies! SO fast...I only finalised my order yesterday, and it was here today! Woohoo! Just in time for the beginning of the So You Think You Can Scrap challenges. Now I seriously don't expect to make it through the first heat, but I am going to enjoy trying! This weeks challenge is GREAT. Lots of distressing and handcutting...FUN!

And here is my boy. His friend arrived beside me while I was making lunch today and asked for a hair pretty to be put in his hair (now this little guy hasn't got sisters, so 10 points for knowing what the pretty was for!)
Sam came out not long after wanting one in his hair too. they looked pretty!

Alrighty my sweets, thanks for stopping by...leave me some love, let me know you are reading!

Today...

I had a whole 6 hours on my own. The girls were at school and Sam went to day care. Mick was painting, so the house was mine. BLISS! I have Sammy booked into daycare on Tuesdays now, so I can get some study done. This may free up my weekends for some family activities which have been a bit thin on the ground lately.

I did finish off one page...love this pic of my baby brother on his wedding day. How happy does he look???

BG papers and chip stickers. A real quick and easy page.
Wish writing this darn essay was as quick and easy. I seem to have a real mental block this semester. Can't get myself motivated. Ah well, so far I am passing which is all i really need I guess!

Our house stinks of smoke today...stoopid oven fire. Maybe this is a sign from above to stop cooking?!? Yeah, maybe not...maybe its more a sign that i should keep an eye on whatever I am cooking and not get distracted by the computer...

And my hubby. The hunky fire fighter dude. Love him.

Thanks for stopping by:-)

oooooh, excitement at our house!

I just almost burned the house down!

I was pre heating the grill, and it caught fire...YIKES! Luckily I was more alert than the smoke detector which went off about 3 minutes after I discovered the fire.

I got to see my dreamy fire fighter husband in action! I spent most of the fiasco running around looking for my camera *blush* (which had been put away, so no photos...the dreamy fire fighter hunk was too fast)

But all is good. The only fatality is my tea towel, and a slightly singed griller. Oh and the smoke detector which had to be beaten into silence...once it detected, it wouldn't let up, unitl it was knocked from the ceiling...

Dt kit for September:-)

It was SUCH a cool kit this month, Marisa did an awesome job...lots of fabric, lace, trim and bling! Loving it! Go on over to the gallery at Direct2U and check out what everyone else has done...clever clever ladies... This is the sketch challnge for the month...go on over and enter, you could win a voucher to spend in store...I would totally be spending mine on some of the Pink paisley letters and papers that have just been uploaded (and they are cheaper than I have seen them other places too...*end plug*)
And my banner...soooooo hard to photograph, made even more difficult by the fact that Mick has taken my gorgeous baby (the new camera) back to Bundy today to get the actual camera (the one with the twin lens kit....

And a close up.

Thanks for stopping by my lovelies...I am REALLY going to do some study today. With Mick and the kids gone, I could really get stuck into some scrapping...OOPS, I meant study! LOL
