Scrapjacked entry for September

Just a quick post to put my Scrapjacked entry up for this month. I used a pic of the gorgeous flowers that my sister Amy sent to me :-). I was down the street, and the local courier man saw me and told me he had something for me. I assumed it was something for work, but he pulled these beautiful flowers out of his ute. Amy had sent them to me 'Just Because'. She is a lovely lady...always manages to put a smile on my face. Love you sis!

The cake...

As you can see from the pics, the birthday boy helped to ice and decorate the cake...Look at that FACE!! Yep, it looked awful, but he loved it, and I guess thats all that matters. It also tasted good. The jelly making up the swamp was delish!
And the added bonus for the birthday boy??? He got bonus toys off the cake! Woohoo!

Happy Birthday!

To my baby boy. Seems like only yesterday he was like this.... He was 2 weeks overdue, and quite comfy. I was induced at about 8:30am and he was in my arms by 10:45am. We were back in Mundubbera by 3pm. All very orderly and efficient. It was a special delivery too, cause my mum was with me...the first of my three children's births she was able to attend. (I hadn't wanted anyone with #1 - thought I might say swears, #2 mumsy was too sick, and so #3 it was, even though she was probably still too sick)

Going overdue made me cranky. Mick had started his leave on the due date. Mum had to travel over to Bundy (2 1/2 hours each way) to dialyse every few days, and well...I was HUGE! I tried everything to shake him out, but there was no rushing my boy :-)

He was a divine baby. Fed 4 hourly, slept quite well, and fitted into our family perfectly.

And now he is 4.

A gorgeous, energetic bundle of 4 year old boy!


He requested an army guy cake...so, I made one. Despite me reservations. I knew it would look hideous, I knew it was quite possible innappropriate...but he loved it!

He got a bike...which has been ridden a couple of time around the house..tomorrow him and I are going down to the bike track to launch it properly.
I tried to get a good pic of the grand present unwrapping, but he was too fast. I have never seen anyone unwrap presents that fast!

So all in all, he has had a good day. He had a friend around to play and have morning tea with, and announced to anyone he met 'today is my birfday'. He gave away a lot of birthday boy cuddles and ate lots of stuff he shouldn't.

Happy birthday my Sammy. I love you :-) You are the coolest 4 year old I know!

Friday Faves....

Late again. Sorry! I didn't know if I could even do them this week, I have had a horrible week. But surprisingly, once I sat down to do them, I started to remember things that have made me smile during what has been a not so great time! Cheap therapy!!! LOL

#1...LOVING the new 90210. But, not sure if it will ever be as great as the original...man I LOVES Dylan. He was so bad, in a misunderstood, gorgeous way! LOL So...who is Kelly's baby's daddy??? Is Brenda Aunty???

#2. My days at home with my boy. Love being at home with this funny gorgeous little man. He makes me laugh and makes me want to pull out my hair. So gorgeous and so frustrating, but SO wonderful. I am trying to enjoy these days, as I know they are fleeting.
#3 Chinese...now we don't get them in these snazzy boxes, but still yum! We really only get Chinese once in a blue moon as its quite a drive to pick it up (the store is in the next town) but when we get there YUM! I usually treat myself when I go to scrapping class...and then bring some home for Mick:-)
#4 how cute is this??? With Mick a firie, I think it would be criminal of me not to buy this cute little scraplet!
#5 I caved this week on my no sugary cereal rule and bought this huge box of nutri grain. Yum! Its not been had for many breakfasts, but lots of late night snacking has been happening! LOL

Also, Sammy and I made play doh today. Sammy had the smashing idea that we needed to make play doh volcanoes and dinosaurs. To make these, we needed green, red (for the lava) and blue play doh. Of course we did. It would have been WAY too easy to just make one colour of playdoh....
