Random Dozen!

I am loving playing along with this random weekly posting! So much fun!

#1 Would you rather host a party or simply attend a party?

Oh boy. I don NOT deal well with entertaining. Even having people over for a simple coffee stresses me out, so I will say attend a party, although even then I stress and agonize over every single thing I said for the next week!

#2 Tell us about the most memorable party you've been to.

It was my 30th, and from what I actually remember, I don't know if *memorable* is what I should describe it as, because I simply don't remember much at all! LOL
Disgraceful.
Suffice to say I couldn't keep anything down until 4pm the next day, and even then it was just water.
And my husband refused to let me breastfeed my child for the next two days.
It was NOT pretty.

#3 What is one thing you hope for in the afterlife?

Just these guys and I'll be a happy little camper ;)
#4 What do you enjoy most about sunshine?

Errrr, the shade?
I don't like sun. Or summer. I DO like air conditioning though;)

#5 When you attend a bridal/baby shower, do you prefer to bring your own gift or chip in with others to buy a larger gift?
I'd rather chip in.
Although this is kind of a running *joke* in my extended family. Someone suggests an expensive gift. That person buys said expensive gift, and all the poorer members (ie ME) *forget* to pay up. Although I am sure that in the past I was the purchaser...this is my poor season though;)

#6 Would you rather have a FREE week of having your house cleaned or all of your meals cooked for you and your family?
I hate cooking.
Hate it.
So I'll go the cook;)

#7 What song describes your mood today?

Its raining its pouring...

#8 What is something you received for your own bridal shower/wedding that you still own or use?
When we got married we received about 5 crystal salad bowls.
I was perplexed. What marriagey type secrets suddenly required me to have all of these salad bowls, when up until then I owned none?
I still don't know.
And I still have and use the salad bowls.

#9 You favourite flavour of ice cream?
Unless I am at Baskin Robbins (or In The Pink at Lennox Head YUM) I'll usually go vanilla.
Boring huh?

#10 When was the last time you felt 'tested'?

Oh man. The past few months have been tough. Really tough. And there isn't really an end in sight, so I am being tested now, and I am NOT liking it.
#11 _______ is a food that once I start eating I find it hard to stop.

Mmmmmmm
#12 _______ is the best motivation.

Right now?
Looming deadlines are the best motivation! LOL

Getting a Little Bit Scrappy!

Yes, I know...I SHOULD be finishing off my assignments, but its such perfect scrapping weather! Its a bit cool, a bit rainy....I don't WANNA do school work!
And I have this!
The Pearls and Lace kit from Wicked Princesses.
How can I be expected to study when such gorgeousness is waiting for me???
Yeah, not happening ;)

I have so far, done this....

And I have written up instructions to be posted in the forum explaining a few distressing techniques :)

And I did this one for the May sketch challenge at A2Z Scraplets.

All about how my boy no longer says 'Me'. Its always 'Moi'. Always. And now, I am not 'mummy'...I am 'moi-mwee'.
Yeah, I don't know where he picked it up, but he makes our life interesting!

Have a great day my friends!

I am Back!

We have had internet issues this week.
I went without contact with the outside inter-webby world for the better part of the week.
It was scary!
But I am back, in time for this next weekend!
Hope you join in! I would love to see you there!

Today's Random Dozen!

#1 What is one really fast, know-by-heart, 'go-to' meal to fix in a pinch?

In the interests of full disclosure, ALL of my meals are really, fast, know-by-heart meals. I don't cook using recipes, and I really don't enjoy cooking....

My fave really quick, easy to make in any amounts is spaghetti bolognese. So quick, can use up slightly saggy veges, and fills everyone up!

#2 What is one item you won't leave home without? (Purse and license don't count)

My sunnies.
I wear them everywhere, especially if I haven't had time to put on the trusty mascara ;)

#3 What is one place you never tire of visiting?

*sigh* Ballina.
Its my favourite place in the whole world. Up until last month, most of my favourite people lived there, but now, some of my favourite people from this bunch have moved.
But I still wanna go to Ballina!

#4 Share one factoid of your family's history.

I am woefully ignorant about my family's history. I don't think I even know my Grandmother's maiden names *blush*
But I do know that often, the women in my mother's family tend to end up with dementia. Not a particularly nice thing to be looking forward to.
I know that my great-grandmother used to try and *escape* by stealing the family car, so my great-grandfather had to hide the car keys on her. I believe they used to get hidden in a boot.
Apparently she would cackle triumphantly whenever she managed to unearth them *smile*

Or at least that's how I think I remember the story (Oh man...it's not happening already is it??)
#5 Complete this sentence: "Once upon a time I...."

Errrr, kissed a few toads, but eventually found my prince :)

#6 if you could win a one year's supply of anything what would it be?

Thickers.
I want a years supply of Thickers!
Failing that, having my bills paid for a year would be nice too!
#7 one quirky thing you may not know about me is...

errrr, I haven't worn a bikini since 1978???
And for this, the world is extremely grateful :)

#8 You have one dollar in your pocket. What will you buy?

Some places out here, you can still get a can of soft drink for $1. I still crave the caffeine even though I have mostly given up the Coke Zero...so I'll have a can of Coke Zero please!

#9 One thing that always makes me laugh is....

Lamebook is hilarious.
Really, you should visit!

#10 What is one thing you could do today to help yourself reach a personal goal?

I could go for a walk.
I SHOULD go for a walk.
But I reeeeeally don't wanna....

#11 What is one thing you could do today to bless someone else?

I don't have a lot with which to bless someone. I am forever thinking of things I *could* do if I had the money.
However, I like making cards. And, its always nice to get *real* mail, so I could (and possibly WILL) send out some cards today. Just to let some people know I was thinking of them :)

#12 What is one thing you're looking forward to soon?

I wait all day for him to come home.
I miss him when he is at work. Seeing him, makes my day better :)

A Really Quick Gift Idea...

The teachers at the local kindy here have been more than fabulous helping me with my uni assignments this term. I really wanted to give them a little something to say *thanks*.
So, despite my assignment being about pre-school aged children and healthy eating, I bought a little packet of these for them....
LOL

I was just going to make a quick *thank you* card, but decided to get a bit fancy with the packaging instead, and created these using Kaisercraft Loire Valley, and the gorgeous new Hey Birdie lines

I think they look fairly cute, I used all scraps and its a GREAT way to make a little gift a bit more personal and fabulous!
The best part about using the Kaisercraft lines was that there was no need to try and coordinate anything, its all there, including the gift tags!
Have a great week my lovely friends, and thanks for stopping by!
Thank YOU also for your wonderful support on my tantrumy, whiny post from the weekend. I am slooooowly dragging myself out of my black hole, and I appreciate your lovely messages!

Its been one of those errrrrr...

days
weeks
months.

All I feel like doing is this. Everything seems to have attacked all at once and its all kind of overwhelming. And, like these toddlers, I feel like throwing myself to the floor and screaming "its NOT FAAAAIIIIIRRRRRR"
But that doesn't really acheive anything much does it?
I haven't been around much, cause I can barely make myself get up out of bed and do the things that are absolutely required. Like showering and feeding the family. LOL
And today?
Today is my little sisters 30th birthday party. And I am not there. Because my car is broken, amongst other reasons.
So, I am throwing myself on the floor, and crying.
I promise I'll be back later, and will possibly be less whiny.

This Weeks Random Dozen!

#1 Please share one memory of your high school graduation. Pics would be great!

*sigh* there I am. In all my cool 1993 glory.

I remember the night I actually graduated high school getting absolutely trashed on Passion Pop. I remember having my first hangover the next day as I went shopping with my mum to buy shoes and make up. I thought I was dying.

#2 What is one 'emergency use' item you keep in your vehicle at all times?

I didn't realise it until my husband dumped like 6 of these on the table in front of me that I have a *thing* for hand sanitizer.
My handbag is even more chockablock with emergency use items.
My youngest child may be almost 6, but I still ALWAYS carry baby wipes. SO handy. I always have a spoon and a fork in my handbag, and usually half a pharmacy in painkillers. My mini key chain Leatherman tool is also pretty handy;)

#3 In your region, do you celebrate graduation open houses?
Errr, I have never even heard of those, so I am assuming that its a U.S. thing???

#4 Tell me one truth you believe about motherhood.
That it is BLOODY hard work, but worth it in the end...it is isn't it??? Anyone?

#5 What is the last thing you broke?
My car and I are not friends lately. Last week I drove over our water meter. Water was going everywhere. We had to call the council. I don't like driving anymore.
#6 On average, how many pieces of junk mail do you receive daily?

Despite this pic I found...probably only 1 or 2. And these are usually for some cattle type products which I don't need. Obviously seeing as my bichon/shih tsu is the only livestock I own.

#7 Do you like to shop by catalogue?

Oh heck YES! I love Ezibuy and Pumpkin Patch. I prefer though to shop online....

#8 is lawn maintenance at your house a 'his job', a 'her job', a 'his/her job' or a 'that's why we have teenagers job'?

Definitely a 'his job'. I don't like outside. He likes outside.
He gets the job.
#9 Which room would you like to redecorate in your home?
REdecorate implies I have sort of decoration in the first place LOL. I have nothing, so I would like to do my whole house please :)
#10 Do you read a newspaper regularly, or do you read most of your news online?
I really only read the paper twice a week, when I go to work. I know. I am woefully ignorant.

#11 Do you believe everything happend for a reason?
Sorta. #12 Are you more worried about doing things right or doing the right things?
I definitely worry more about doing things right.
