Well Hello Sunshine!

In order to celebrate the brand new store opening of Addicted2Scrapping, we were challenged to create a greeting card...and here's mine! I really wish Michelle all the very very best with this exciting new venture! She certainly has an enthusiastic and excited DT behind her all the way!

Kylie has started up a Book of me challenge, which sounds GREAT!!!

Will you take on the BOM challenge?Who and what do you scrap?I know I’m
always scrapping about everyone else, and rarely focus on me.

So this year, I’ve decided to create a BOM...and I'm challenging you to join me on the journey.Each fortnight between 4th Aug-1st May 09, I will be posting a new BOM challenge.

I want you to have a record of your life, your loves, your own personal story!This
is not a competition, but a participation. At the end ,1st May 09, if you take
up the challenge, you will have 22 layouts that reflect on all the things that
make you, you!

And to keep you focussed on your journey, I have a wonderful
participation prize up for grabs!How about a $100 ( could be a myer, kmart,
target, etc) voucher for you to to spend on yourself at the end?All you have to
do is complete at least 18 of the 22 challenges that are posted. Do that, and
you will go into the draw to win this fantastic prize!

PS....There will also be some small participation prizes along the way! So what are you waiting for. Go to the Participation Sign-up thread now...and sign-up to join us on this journey!
Conditions of participation:
layouts must be created specifically for this challenge
any size 6x6" or larger is acceptable (I'm doing an A4 landscape...which is a new challenge for me)
layouts must be posted in the monthly BOM folders in the Addicted2Scrapping gallery to be eligible for the prize
a minimum of 18 layouts must be completed.
If you don't start the journey on 4th Aug 08, but complete the minimum of 18 layouts by the of 1st May 09, you will still be eligible for the draw.
the prize will be drawn on Wed 3rd May 09.

There is a Words of Inspiration challenge starting up:

The competition will run over 2 months.
You will be given a weekly challenge every week, so that’s 8 layouts over the course of the 2 months.
You will be given each challenge at a set time and it will need to be in by a set time.
The prize for each weekly challenge winner will be a $5 A2S voucher!
The challenges will take the form of us giving you a word for inspiration, from which you will create your layout.
Which means you can scrap pretty much anything you like
At the end of the 2 months, all of the entries from the weekly challenges will be entered into a grand prize draw.
The winner will have the chance to win a very generous prize pack, or even a guest design team position for a month at A2S!!!!!
Now for the rulesTo be eligible for the grand prize at the end of the 2 months, you are required to have entered all 8 weekly challenges.
You will need to be an active participant of the A2S forum. This includes chatting around the forum and sharing your work in the gallery.
This is a great way for us to all get to know each other, so I hope you come and join in!
The first challenge and prize information will be posted on August 4th, 2008!

August DT

Almost forgot to pop up my August DT stuff for Direct2U! We got a Delish Designs mini kit, just in time for my little Sis' engagement party!

So, I used my kit to make up a little guest book thingy for people to sign and leave messages. I don't know if thats how it got used, but that was what it was meant for!!! I know that my little brother was drawing rude stuff in it when I saw him...'dictation'...grumble grumble...

I made a little shaker box on the cover...Such a handy thing to know how to make! I am so glad I went to the class that Stacey ran in Gayndah on this! I have used the concept heaps since my first one :-) How gorgeous is that MM gingham ribbon??? Must get more of this next time I am in Gayndah!!!
I love these little butterfly beads. I got them at the local $2 shop...I have used them on so many things since then! A lot of the rub ons in the book wre from a kit I got at the same time which cost $2 as well! Not bad!
Not many photos inside, as I wanted lots of blank space for people to be able to write in. I also didn't have any photos of the beautiful couple, so I had to print out ones from emails and laminate them...probably not a bad idea for something that was going to be handled a fair bit!

Hmmm need storage???

I am so lucky having a whole room for my crafty supplies....but GEEZ, I have NO storage...unless you count the floor...or the door - come - desk LOL

Mick gave Nat a little reading light that clips to her book so she can read in bed at night...I managed to snap a pic. Her book of choice at the moment? The bible. Couldn't you just eat her she is so cute?!? My hubby is due home any minute now! Thank you God...I am going a leeeetle crazy here without any adult back up! I so don't know how single parents do this day after day. I am ruined after one weekend! mick is going to be working away for two months later on this year...How will I get through that?

I don't sleep when he is away. I am so tired and my head feels like its is going to explode. I dunno, he makes me feel safe, and who can sleep when they aren't safe???

I have nearly done 150 posts since starting this thing! I am planning a scrappy RAK for #150, which should be sometime next week! Keep checking back!

I am no photographer...

But this morning I managed to get some GOOD shots! May have been the sunshine, or the cool junk lying around in the random paddock we were exploring in...or could have been the good old fashioned bribery (heh packet of lollies works wonders on these kids!) Love this one! The rusty old ute is the reason we went out this way...I took some photos of the kids about a year ago here, and they had such fun! This time we went without daddy, so mummy let them explore the old ute...I think they have all had a tetanus shot!

This one I love!!!! I tried to get one of the same with the three of them, but Natalie insisted on doing bunny ears on the other two, and Sam kept giving me a thumbs up LOL

And this poser!!! She just kept working the camera baby! I am so happy that digital cameras were invented, cause yes I got some random good shots...but all up, I took 170 photos! Yikes! Imagine that in the good old film days!

So that was our Saturday morning! No daddy...missing him lots. He rang last night for a loving phone call and to say goodnight to the kids. Well, they got hold of the phone and bombarded him with X - Box how - to questions!!! Little toads!!!

Five Fab Faves for Friday!!!

Woohooo! TGIF!

My fave spot this week has been our back steps, in the warm winter sun with my cup of English Breakfast tea....the weather has been glorious this week, and Sam and I have made the most of it and spent most of it outside. He plays. I sit, and sip, and daydream! Fave number 2...my computer! Some days it feels as if all my friends are here!
Mmmmm Fave three is grilled ham and cheese for lunch...not friendly for the waistline AT ALL, but so so yummy! It warms you up, and is so quick and easy to make! Love it this week!
Fave number4...Mick is on holidays in two weeks, for a whole month! WOOT! (first we have to survive a weekend without him though....need your help here people! LOL) Apparently he will be painting the outside of our house.
Fave number5....Sassafrasslass...I think I could list them every week and never run out of glorious things to say. How yummy are their Patterned Papers?!?! I just LOVE everything about their stuff atm!
