Some Scrapping

I am going to be away from my scrapping supplies for a couple of weeks, so I REEEEEALLY wanted to get some things done before we leave for the big wedding!

First up I decided to do the Wicked Princess card sketch designed by Tanya :) Details here. Mick and the kids will be attending his grandmother's birthday party whilst I am at my sis's Hen's Night, so I threw together a card using the sketch...OMG...making a card following a sketch is SO easy!! I also just used scraps from my scrap box...what a GREAT way to use them up!
You may as well give it a go...you could win a $10 voucher!
I was challenged over in the forum at D2U to create a LO using NO ink, bling or flowers (*gasp* I know, all my favourite things) and using bright colours...

I used some bits and pieces from my WP Little Prince kit (all October Afternoon PPs)

And made this!

I had to stop myself SO many times from reaching for my stamp pads, and even found myself hunting for a journalling stamp at one stage...LOL Luckily I remembered in time NOT to use the stamp!!!
Thanks for stopping by:)

Nat's Day:)

Thanks to everyone who left well wishes for my girly yesterday! She had a WONDERFUL day! Two lots of cake, presents and mail! How good is mail on your birthday?!?!

She took cupcakes to school to chare with the class...and I forgot to take a photo *DOH*!

As the baking of the cupcakes tested my will power to the MAX, I talked her into being happy with a store bought ice cream cake to share at home after dinner:)
Really, who cares what the cake is, as long as there is CANDLES!?!?
And then after an exciting 8th birthday, she was sound asleep (yes, another stalking photo LOL)

Some Wickedness :-)

The March sketch over at Wicked Princesses was designed by the uber talented Mel Corbett. It is truly such an easy lovely sketch to work with...why not give it a go?
Details for the sketch challenge are here.

Karen and Tam have also introduced a Wicked technique challenge:)

This month The gorgeous Wendy has challenged everyone to use punches on a LO

So dust off those punches ladies! What a great way to use up all those scrappy bits of your fave PPs!! I lurve these Heather Bailey PPs, and will not throw out a single bit LOL
(dunno what happened with that pic down below...it went all weird when I compressed it ??)

I *heart* my butterfly punch :)
As a bonus, Wendy has written a quick tutorial on ways you could incorporate gorgeous lollipop 'flowers' into a boy LO...go check it out!

Details on the 'punchy challenge' are here.

That could have been bad!

I was carrying two bags of rubbish down the stairs today. My pants were feeling loose, and because I had both hands full, I didn't have a free one to grab at them...
Yep. They fell down.

Luckily Sam was my only witness, and had no idea that anything was wrong.
I guess this diet IS doing something!!!

Happy Birthday!

To these two:) Yes, my mum and my baby girl share a birthday! 8 years ago, I was clever enough to give my mum her first grandchild as a birthday gift. I know, thoughtful...I also bought her a clock that same year...

Look at this pretty little doll I gave birth to. She was no trouble then and is no trouble now. She was a fast first baby - only 3 hours from woe to go, and she never even cried. When she first was born, instead of giving an almighty wail. She blinked, opened her beautiful big eyes and just looked around the room.

It was the first time I had ever seen my husband hold a baby, and I'll admit, I fell in love with him all over again:)

Look at this...our first family photo (I know, holy shiny! I had just had a baby! I didn't stop to powder my nose/forehead/chin LOL) And my husband, well, he looks like a baby himself!

And this was our bedroom at 6am this morning. She was up waaaaaay earlier, but we had said she could wake us up at 6am.
She got a load of books, AAAAAND, a DSlite. (guess which was Dad's fave gift??? He even charged it for himself her so he she could play it straight away)

Sam gave her some $2 tumbling cats...guess which was her fave gift??? (after weeks of nagging and begging and pleading for a blue DSlite, it would seem she likes the cats, I am hoping the DSlite lasts a little longer, but I'm not placing any bets)

And here she is. My gorgeous 8 year old! She went off this morning with a tray of cupcakes to share with her class and the other Natalie in her class who is also 8 today! (they figured out that our Nat is 3 hours older) Can you believe in a town of 1500 people, that the other person who shares Natalie's birthday is ALSO a Natalie??? I couldn't either

So, happy birthday big girl. Hope all your dreams come true!
And happy birthday Mumsy! Love you lots, and I have a WAY cool present for you when we are on the island:)

Friday Faves!

All images in this post are STOLEN!!! Not one of them belong to me or my camera, and I am okay with that, I was (quite frankly) far too lazy to get up and find my stinking camera and then hunt down the things that make me happy. Its been one of THOSE days!
#1 this week is my sleep mask. Its not funky like these. It is pink and had 'Beauty Sleep' embroidered across the eyes.
My allergies have been yucky again this week, and I loooooove putting my sleep mask in the freezer while I am at work and putting it on when my eyes get itchy once I come home again.
I also like that I can wear it while Mick stays up reading in bed, and I can sleep. Even if he is laughing at me, quite loudly... #2 a cold bed.
I love anything cold. I love to sit on a chair thats cold and get into a cold bed. I hate getting a chair thats warm and covered in someone else's germs, and I love cold crisp sheets.
I even turn on my AC about 1/2 an hour before I go to bed, direct the fan onto my pulled down bed, and make sure those sheets are good and cold. Then I also ensure that I go to bed before Mick so I can use up his side of the bed's coldness before using mine.
I think I have a problem.

(I am also a fan of this bedroom...I wonder if this is what mine will look like when it grows up...)

#3 Friday night 'blow out'. Celebrity Slim is doing my head in. And I now LIVE for Friday night when I allow myself to have a burger. ***drooooool**** (Mick is off collecting cooking dinner as I type)

#4 I used to love Enid Blyton books when I was young, and Natalie had just discovered them
We were finding it hard to find something for her to read that was challenging enough for her reading level, but still right for her age level. Most of the books she can read, she probably shouldn't be reading...but these are so good. Not too challenging, and totally innocent (even if Noddy was feeling a little queer and got into bed with Big Ears... - sorry, couldn't resist!!!)

#5 my order of Bazzill Swiss Dotted Card stock arrived this week, and its lovely. Really really lovely.

I got two of each of the available colours

And I am glad.

I only have the smallest amount of buyers remorse...

Soooooo, what are your faves this week????

Fairyland...

So, I was at work today (I work in a bank as a teller) and a big man walks up to the counter (*heh* this totally sounds like a joke..). He asks to change his address.
"sure" says I (I am paid to be helpful at work, unlike home) "what's your new address?"

he tells me.

And his new address was in Faiyland.

"okay" says I. Not smiling, smirking or laughing (see I CAN be a serious type bank person when it is called for!!) "could you spell that for me" (I was thinking I must have misheard...this man was too huge to fit through tiny trapdoors or skip along yellow brick roads or however else one may choose to enter Fairyland)

But no, Fairyland is spelled, well 'FAIRYLAND'.

And apparently Fairyland looks like this.
And if Google can be believed Fairyland has no public toilets and no houses for rent or sale (no toadstools either I believe hahahahaha!!!!)

Fairyland's claim to fame is that it once had a school. And as far as I can tell, thats about it for Fairyland. That, and it is near Chinchilla somewhere in Queensland Australia.

So there you have it. There truly really IS a fairyland...its just much less sparkly and dainty than I had pictured it in my head...
