My Parenting 'Philosophy'

Hah
Note the inverted commas around 'philosophy'.
I am no expert. Nor do I play one on the internet ;)
I am a BIG believer in letting kids alone to explore. If they are happily involved, I leave them well alone.
If they are bored, I often do too.
Kind of like neglect, but this is a 'philosophy' LOL
I love love love the things they come up with when left to their own devices!
Like today, Sam asked Charlotte about wizards....
And quick as a flash, she had whipped up a great wizard hat, and one for herself, and they were playing an awesome game involving wizards, some sort of machine gun, and the dog cage.
Yeah...I'm not real sure what was happening....
Later, she was bored, so she made me a lovely card...

Inside was a limmerick!

*You are my beautiful mummy
Your mummy smell is so yummy
You are so pretty
You don't live in a city
Your dinners are yummy in my tummy*
So there you have it! Try neglect as a parenting style...some days it works wonders!

Important decision...

I am growing my nails.
I spent all day yesterday typing on the computer for uni, and looking at my bitten yucky nails, and came to the conclusion, that if I am going to fail my units, I will do it looking at something pretty LOL
I have all the 'kit'
Nail file, gorgeous hand cream (thanks Kim and Beth- chrissy present!) and some sort of clear nail junk... And for the first time in about 8 years, I have nail polish on my finger nails!
Feels wierd!
Wish me luck ;)

Oh Crap

Yesterday I dinged the car.
Nothing serious, no-one was hurt, except my car.
I quickly threw the kids in the car, and just as I went to reverse the car out of the garage, Sam swung his door open, and it connected with the centre support of the garage. While I kept moving.
Nearly ripped the door off :(
It looks nasty. So nasty I couldn't even bear to go down and take a pic...these pics are from when we first got the car. Back when it was shiny and un-damaged ie back before I took control :( I was dreading telling my husband. I knew he wouldn't be angry, but with the bills we have I knew he would be upset.
Do you know what he said?
"Its okay, we are a team, we'll sort it all out"
And that was it.
No recriminations, no sighing, no sideways glares.
I wish I was as good a wife as he is husband, cause I don't think I could have been so loving in that moment. I would have been angry. I need to remember this.
Soooo, if you happen to be in Mundubbera and see some crazy lady sliding across to the drivers side from the passenger seat with her rear door secured with rope, say hi to me, maybe shout me a coffee LOL...I'll be saving my pennies for my insurance excess!

Today....

We hung around, and went to the park... We played...

And had a few quiet times (Look at this girl's eyes! Who would believe that some days those eyes
are brown!?!?!)
And this cheeky guy refused to let me take one single pic where his tongue was in his mouth :-/

And we walked. Together. I like together, its my favourite :)

Wicked Princesses :)

My colour challenge jas gone up over at WP, and it is VERY easter inspired ;) Brown for the chocky, pink, green and blue ;)

Love this paper range from Collage Press. One of those ones I have been saving for 'special'. I was so brave to actually USE it LOL

And speaking of Wicked Princesses...Krissy has just announced that she is on the search for another princess! Wanna join in??? Just head over here to see what's involved!

April Scrap The Girls!

Hey there my blog! I am so sorry to have neglected you of late. By the time I get my required reading for uni done, I am so over the computer that blogging is the last thing on my mind. I have missed you though.... Yeah. Not loving uni.
So this month's challenge for Scrap the Girls is up on the STG blog :) A 5,4,3,2,1 challenge this month...use 5xbuttons, 4xpatterned papers, 3xflowers, 2xphotos and 1xalpha.

And there are FIVE prizes up for grabs!

I used my buttons on top of the black polka dots on my PP, and my 2nd pic is tucked behind my title :) A bit of a cathartic page about my mum and dad's upcoming move, and how it means our holidays in Ballina are on hiatus for a while :(

Hope you get an entry in, I would love to see what you create!!!
