A really tough weekend...

I have been a bad bad blogger.
Our weekend was kind of sucky. Mick spent most of the weekend searching for a friend of his from work that went missing last Thursday. They found Neil's body late Saturday afternoon, but as you can imagine it was a pretty awful time. I actually am finding it hard to deal with how much it has affected me, so I cannot even begin to imagine how difficult this is for Mick and the boys, not to mention Neil's family. Neils death has really rocked the QPWS 'family'.
It has brought home to me how dangerous Mick's job can be. Neil knew that bush that he was walking in like the back of his hand. He had every piece of safety equipment available. He had followed all the safety protocols like calling in and having his staff on alert. He was checking in regularly with them. He was fit and healthy. I think I am really just feeling so so scared, and so so sad for Neil's family. Please if you could spare a prayer for Neils wife and children I am sure it would be much appreciated.
So there is a reason I haven't been around...not just sheer slackness...(although with me, slackness always plays a part!)

this sort of thing is always sad, but it happens to close to home and NOT just some random person on the news...well, its just sad (Trevor found an older friend of ours deceased on her property after a motorbike accident, last year - again experienced...so you never know when its your time..) Hope that his colleagues and family get to know what went wrong, for some closure. Thinking of you all. xoxox

we had a sudden death of a popular young fella in our district last week. The whole community has been in mourning and his funeral is tomorrow.

A sudden loss is so tragic. You dont have the chance to say goodbye, and neither did they.

It is totally gut wrenching devastating.

I feel for you and your family, for the gentleman's family.

Oh Kristy, hoe devastating for everyone!!! My prayers will go to Neils family and to all those effected by his death!!! How very tragic to loose someone to young!!! Im so sorry!!!
It can happen to anyone cant it. Just a few weeks ago we all had a scare. One of our dear friends went missing. We first heard about it on the radio!! We couldn't believe that this guy could just disappear like that. He had a dissagreement with family and took off on his bike and wasn't heard or seen for about a week. Searchers found him deep in a forest in Queensland. Apparently he had had a bit of a mental breakdown and his brain wasn't functioning properly!!! But thank god he was found in time!!!
I hope that you and your hubby find it easier each day to cope with Neils loss and can be there for his family!!!
Such a tragedy!!!
